This program is designed to educate and expose you to a much higher level than any hunter safety class or wildlife education class is capable of doing -- hands on experience for every attendee with one on one communication with experts and participation in an actual capture hunt. A capture hunt allows you to tranquilize an elk by using a dart gun, assist in collecting research data, and remove the yearly antler growth - you get to keep the antlers!

You will leave with a greater knowledge and higher level of respect for wildlife, the role we play in their management, and memories that last a lifetime. Cost is $1000 per youth. If you are looking for a scholarship, please mail us a motivation letter "Why you want to come to the Youth Adventure Weekend" along with your registration forms (download from this site or request a copy by emailing info@elkresearch.org or call 970-749-4647).
